Welcome - 3D Mechanical Design - Engineering & Modeling Resource.

Educational Websites for Mechanical Engineering. It is a source of help for learning mechanical design, 3D modelling. You can find examples of calculations, engineering ideas, 3D models, formulas, helpful Links, SolidWorks free lessons and other information that will support your learning process. What do you need to know about 3D Mechanical Design? What is design automation, what Is NAAMS standard? Mechanical design ideas and more...
This practical, user-friendly reference book of common mechanical engineering concepts is geared toward makers who don’t have (or want) an engineering degree but need to know the essentials of basic mechanical elements to successfully accomplish their personal projects. The book provides practical mechanical engineering information (supplemented with the applicable math, science, physics, and engineering theory) without being boring like a typical textbook. Most chapters contain at least one hands-on, fully illustrated, step-by-step project to demonstrate the topic being discussed and requires only common, inexpensive, easily sourced materials and tools. Some projects also provide alternative materials and tools and processes to align with the reader’s individual preferences, skills, tools, and materials-at-hand…

What is moment of force?

Moment of force is the rotational effect of force, which is equal to the force multiplied by the perpendicular distance between a pivot and the force.
Moment of a force (torque) is defined as the rotational effect of the force about the axis of rotation and is the product of the force (F) and the perpendicular distance (d)
M = F × d.
SI International System/Metric system of moment of a force is Newton-meter (Nm).
Imperial System Units(US Customary Units and British Imperial Units.) of moment of a force is Pound-force foot (lbf·ft).
Example:
The moment of force is 5 Nm. Force is10 N about a point.
What is the perpendicular distance from the line of action of the force to the axis of rotation?
Moment of force = force × distance
⇒ 15Nm = 5 N × d
⇒ d = 3 m
